Painting the outside of your aboveground fuel tanks will protect them from corrosion and prolong the life of the tank.
This three-coat Surface Tolerant Coating System protects external tanks in all weathers and requires no maintenance for 10 years.
Jack Aplin, Eurotank Service Group’s Sales Director, said: “The fuel tank pictured was in need of an internal and external inspection as part of some depot improvements. The tank was cleaned and inspected inside, and thickness measurements taken.
“It was a condition of the planning permission at this particular depot that all the tanks were painted green to blend into the local surroundings.
“With the uncertain future of fuelling, having any external tanks painted for protection will prolong their life.”
The painting process involved washing the tank to remove any grease and contamination from the surface, areas of corrosion were removed, and the remainder of the surface was prepared by hand.
An anti corrosion coating was applied, followed by a weather resistant coating, which is a UV stable water resistant Polyurethane Acrylic top coat.
