Eurotank Environmental has completed a tailor-made lining to tackle problems associated with a porous concrete bund and several compromised joints.
The bund had become impossible to dry out so Eurotank devised a solution that involved cement board with an added fibreglass and resin lining.
A spokesperson for the customer said: “We hired Eurotank to line a concrete bund at our facility; they exceeded all expectations despite some serious challenges. From the start, the team was professional and thorough, conducting a detailed assessment to understand the scope of the issues. Their expertise turned a tricky job into a total success.”
The first step of the job was to clean the bund, assess the damage and set up a full tented area over the entire bund. The concrete boards were primed, water ingress points plugged and dried, and the top of the tank walls were prepared. Some damage to the sump was found so this was rebuilt by one of Eurotank’s construction engineers. To address the porosity issue, Eurotank’s lining team then used concrete boarding to create a solid, stable base, followed by a fiberglass and resin coating to provide a tough, chemically resilient finish.
