Delaine Buses pays tribute to Europump Maintenance’s responsive service

Mark Delaine-Smith, Director of Delaine Buses in Bourne, Lincolnshire has expressed his gratitude to Europump Maintenance for resolving an ill-timed fuel pump issue on the spot.

Europump Maintenance’s Technical Service Engineer Darren Reynolds was first to respond to the priority call-out and following a thorough inspection, quickly detected a faulty pressure release valve (PRV) 10 inches deep into the manhole chamber. Europump’s extensive stock of parts meant the engineer had the exact make and model PRV on his van and was able to shut off the diesel supply and replace with new there and then.

Mark Delaine-Smith was both surprised and grateful the works were not just inspected and diagnosed but rectified immediately. “Darren has been to our depot and I couldn’t let this pass without complimenting just how good he is,”he told Europump Maintenance’s Service Contract Co-Ordinator Karen Walmsley.“He’s a huge asset to you and outstanding in every area I can think of –nothing was too much trouble.”

In addition to fixing the pump fault, Darren undertook some general preventative maintenance at the same time – cleaning the filters and testing the pump and lines – before signing off the fuelling system as safe, and giving the customer a comprehensive job completion report.

Delaine Buses continues to operate its routes safely and timely with no fuelling delays at the depot, and is ready for the return of schools inSeptember.
