ADR twin-pot tanker for better cost efficiency

It has been a busy couple of months for Eurotank’s Industrial Services division, undergoing several manned and non-manned entry cleans to fuel tanks being decommissioned.

Using an ADR twin-pot tanker, our team was able to uplift, polish and transfer salvageable fuel into the clean pot of the tanker. This was then transported to another tank on site or taken for waste fuels rebate, before the team jetted and uplifted the tank clean washings to the second pot.

Greg Wyatt, Eurotank’s Group Technical Sales Manager, said: “By using a twin-pot tanker our team can reduce costs and improve efficiency.Waste costs are very high when disposing of low flash waste streams such as petrol or waste with a high solid content but with a twin-pot tanker, the higher-cost wastes can be separated from the lower-cost waste such as tank washings, and this saving can be passed on to the customer.

“The other advantage of a twin-pot tanker when cleaning storage tanks is the product can be polished and held in a clean compartment while the empty tank is jet washed and the washings uplifted into the dirty pot. This reduces time on site.

“Also, with the tanker’s 1200cfm liquid ring pump, we can position it in a way so as not to affect site operations and can pull liquids with a long vertical lift such as large bulk storage tanks or building basements.”
